WHAT SIZE OF SHEET DO I NEED?

DO I NEED TO WASH MY SHEETS BEFORE USE?

We recommend washing all products before use on a gentle low temperature wash.

Our sheets are shipped to you oversized to account for the slight, natural shrinkage that will occur after their necessary first wash. Why is this important? Because our production process is free of any harmful chemical sizing agents like formaldehyde or other laundering practices to pre-shrink the final product.

We avoid those steps to remain true to our organic certified standards and minimize the environmental impact of production by using less water and heat. If your sheets fit looser in the beginning, rest assured that after the first couple of washes your sheets will have the perfect fit.

HOW SHOULD I LAUNDER MY LILY & MORTIMER BEDDING AND SLEEPWEAR?

Lily & Mortimer recommends using a natural washing detergent. The best option is to use a Non _Bio laundry detergent to keep your sheets naturally white and free from chemicals. See our Laundry Care Page for more information.

WHAT IS THREAD COUNT?

Thread count is an industry term used to calculate the number of thread in a square inch of fabric. It is not a determiner for the quality of the cotton. At Lily & Mortimer we consider quality of thread, thread count, sustainability of the fabric and breathability when producing our bedding. We believe this combination creates the most naturally soft and durable sheets and duvet covers.

In some cases manufacturers use poor quality cotton with many loose plys in each thread. It can be the case that they then count the plys to calculate their thread count not the indivudal threads of cotton. You would have experienced wearing/plying of the fabric where this is the case. 

This is why we ensure our cotton is naturally strong and create what we believe is the perfect weight of fabric for every season.

DO YOU OFFER GIFT WRAPPING SERVICES?

All Lily & Mortimer products come in beautfifully packaged in our reusable linen bags so there is no need for additional wrap.
